Aline Barnsdale was born in 1865 and embraced in 1890, when she was visiting her family here in Montreal . She was coming from London and had a very lucrative job as counselor to one of the most influential and successful business man of the period. When she came here in Montreal she came under the thrall of a Daeva, which is currently in torpor, who needed someone with her specific talents. The fact that she was so strikingly beautiful only inclined the vampire even more to have her has child.

Once she became kindred, after having been courted for a month by her sire, she was very happy to learn that her new abilities as a Daeva only helped her to succeed even more at her business. She dived in what she was good at doing and quickly made herself, as well as her sire, very rich and more influential.

When her sire went into torpor she had already acquainted Steven Hubbard and noticed how he seemed to make his moves in the backend while making money from different reasons and proposed her services to him. Hubbard was more than happy to accept her as his personal aide and thus started a very long relationship. Aline is relatively aware of all of her Prince's secrets.

Aline is effectively the second most powerful vampire, regarding influence and resources, in Invictus and the entire domain. She is also one of the most feared vampires in Montreal . She has access to a large amount of the prince's resources to use in case she needs to put pressure or hunt someone and she is not afraid to use these resources. Aline also manages day to day activities in the province of downtown. She also is a force to be reckoned with on the business stage. Aline is one of the caretakers of the riches of the prince. Since she is in command of so much of the prince's influence and resource, the prince makes sure not to lose control on her by keeping her on a tight leash with second stage vinculum, which any seneschal has to accept under his ruler ship.

Any audience with the prince must first be screened and approved by Barnsdale and it is not something easy to acquire. The one who wishes to encounter the Prince better have good reasons.

Aline also has another interesting talent, she has a deep understanding of all customs used by all vampiric cultural groups. This makes her a much appreciated hostess.

She is always dressed in business dress but always with something out of the ordinary, be it a strange color streak in the hair, a temporary tattoo or anything that strikes her fancy at the moment.
