In the Danse Macabre, the Dragons are the great unknown. Focusing inward, the Dragons have little interest in politics or religion. Individual members might be deeply entrenched in politics, but the covenant ignores it as much as necessary. Better to transcend the problem than feed the illusion - therefore the covenant has taken an independent position, withholding its political power unless directly confronted.
